Chelsea In Bloom x Bloom & Wild

Last week Chelsea was indeed in BLOOOOOM.  The theme of this year’s annual ‘alternative’ floral art show (lets face it, ‘dem Chelsea Flower Show tickets are like gold dust!) was ‘Floral Safari,’ and the shops and restaurants of Chelsea were all filled with the most creative of wild displays, all competing for several coveted awards.

Bloom & Wild, the hugely popular letterbox flower delivery service and leading floral stylists, teamed up with Club Monaco, creating a stunning Borneo inspired installation at their Sloane Square shop.  With cascading lush greenery with intermittent flashes of bright, tropical colour, you could wander around on the scout for wild (albeit more fragrant than ferocious) exotic wildlife.

From camouflaged frogs to cheeky orangutans and elusive clouded leopards, a ‘safari guide’ was on hand to add to the interactive experience, and being from Kenya myself, with a true passion for wildlife, you can only imagine how much I enjoyed exploring this jungle.

I specifically loved the stark contrast of Bloom & Wild’s rugged combination of palms, ferns, over grown vines and moss, set alongside Club Monaco’s clean and modern Spring styles. The neutral-heavy Club Monaco outfit I chose to wear also served to highlight this.

Bloom & Wild, most deservedly, won the People’s Champion Award, as voted for by the public – Congratulations!

Bloom & Wild Tiny Tree Pop-Up at Boxpark

Just when I was wondering how I would fit a little festive cheer into my small loft-style flat, let alone drag said cheer up four flights of stairs, the flower delivery peeps at Bloom & Wild came to my rescue. Their little elves (I imagine) posted one of their 40cm tall Tiny Trees through my letter box last week and solved my current Christmas conundrum.

HOW Bloom & Wild manage to fit a miniature pine tree, a waterproof collapsible pot, a box of ‘ickle baubles and a string of fairy lights in a letter-box friendly parcel I will never know, but magically they can.

Despite being equipped with everything I needed to style my tree and infuse some Christmas spirit into my apartment, I decided to personalise my tree with some H&M Home Gold Pineapple Ornaments (£6.99 for two), some golden giraffe I found on Etsy and my orange kikoy - I guess you can take the girl outta Africa…!

The results? The cutest touch of home away from home, and I couldn’t be happier when I return each evening to see the sparkling ornaments by my fireplace.

Today Bloom & Wild are launching their ‘Tiny Tree’ pop-up in Shoreditch’s Boxpark where you can not only handpick your own adorably pint-sized tree (priced between £25.00-£33.00), but also stock up on lots of cute decorations to dress it up. My own Africa inspired tree will also be on display until it closes on Sunday.

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2016

I never thought I would ever find myself on a Monday evening flower arranging with some fellow bloggers, let alone actually enjoy it as much as I did.  I was invited by Bloom & Wild (the through the letter box florist I’ve come to depend on for gifts) to Hobbs in Covent Garden, for a specialist flower arranging workshop ahead of Mother’s Day this weekend.  Now, not usually one to blow my own trumpet, but c’moonnnnnn… HOW beautiful is my bouquet?! (*I shall now available for weddings and bar mitzvahs, naturally…)

As my Mother lives in Africa, she will have to make do with this photograph of the flowers that shoulda-woulda-coulda have been hers (but are instead are sitting looking heavenly in my flat!) but you and your mum can attend the workshop on Sunday yourselves by booking tickets HERE.
